This 30-acre rural site in the foothills of Mt Hood has been lovingly transformed from timber-land clear cut to lush natural habitat over the past few decades. Currently, a series of outdoor spaces are arrayed along the lake's edge, geared to entertaining large groups. This project seeks to elevate the character & size of the main house, transforming it from a modest home to a woodsy year-round gathering space, capable of accommodating groups & events. A new serene master suite will sit above a spacious great room, timber-clad & framed from trees fallen & milled onsite. Working alongside the owner to establish program & goals, and as designer/builder has provided tremendous appreciation for the role of the contractor, as well as valuable insight into the complexities of procurement, sequencing, & executing the work even for a project of this limited size & complexity.
